Kenny the Koala
Was a cuddly baby bear,
But Kenny was so tiny,
He nearly wasn't there.

Kenny's sister Jenny
Shed a little tear,
Worried that her Kenny
May even disappear.

"Mummy dear", said Jenny,
"What ever shall we do,
If Kenny disappeared
There'd just be me and you."

"Dry your eyes", said Mummy,
"We won't let Kenny leave,
Little bears get bigger
By eating lots of leaves."

So Kenny ate his gum leaves,
Eating every leaf in sight,
He was eating them on Monday
And still eating Friday night.

Kenny grew much bigger,
But the tree was looking sick,
Instead of leaves and gum nuts
There were only twigs and sticks.

Bigger still grew Kenny,
And the branch began to crack,
Tumbling Kenny from his tree
And squarely on his back.

Jenny pushed with all her might,
But couldn't make him stand,
"Mummy dear", said Jenny
"Come quick, and lend a hand."

No matter how they dragged
Their chubby baby bear,
Kenny wasn't budging,
In fact he stayed right there.

"Mummy dear", said Jenny,
"We're not doing very well,
I think we need a fairy
To cast a magic spell."

"Clever girl", said Mummy,
"Lets get Shirl to take a look,
She's listed under 'Fairies'
In the book."
Shirley waved her magic wand
And fluttered to and fro,
"Kenny is too heavy,
This could be touch and go."

"But surely, Shirl", said Jenny,
"You can lift him off the ground,
Isn't that why fairies
Are around?"

"I didn't learn that trick", said Shirl,
"You must think I'm a fool,
It really is quite easy,
But I missed that day at school."

"I'm not allowed to cast a spell,
Or do anything that's scary,
It isn't that I couldn't,
But I'm not that kind of fairy."

"Just a tick!", said Shirley,
"I know some magic words,
How about I change your Ken
Into a little bird?"

"That might work", said Mummy,
"Though Ken may disagree,
At least it'll get him off the ground
And back into the tree."

Shirley checked her manual,
And shouted "JIGAJIG",
"Oops, That can't be right", said Shirl,
He's changed into a pig!

"My book is out of date", said Shirl,
"It's something quite absurd,
I think the word I should have used
Was really WIRLAGIRD!"
"Oink, oink, oink", said Kenny,
Who still was rather big,
"Change me back this instant,
I don't want to be a pig!"

"Look what pigs have got to eat,
I wouldn't want to try it,
Put me back the way I was,
And put me on a diet!"

"Fair enough", said Shirley,
Sprinkling stardust everywhere,
"JIGAJIG- JIG, GET RID OF THE PIG!",
And back came Kenny bear!

Now Kenny's in his tree again,
And nowhere near as burly,
He only eats six leaves a day,
In case Mummy rings up Shirley.
